Our grandfather, Hight Proffit, owned the Diamond X brand, and it was something that he was very proud of. He came from North Carolina and worked hard to achieve his dream of owning and operating his own ranch. He was a kind and hospitable man, who loved to talk and share with anyone. We are proud to preserve his legacy by continuing his dream and sharing it with others.

In October of 2006, his two sons, Larry and Don decided to partner in creating the Diamond X Guest Ranch and Retreat to extend the legacy of their father, to bring families (including our own) closer together, and to preserve the unique ranching lifestyle.

Ranching has been our family's lifestyle for several generations. We have enjoyed the toughness, the connection with the land, the beauty, and the family togetherness it has provided. We feel fortunate to have the chance to carefully and intimately interact with God's creation.
